What to look for in listing photographs

Check the roof and side decoration as well as the black body color. A seller’s shortened “black Belvedere” title may omit the white elements or the series, so the number 68060A is the more useful reference. Photograph and packaging details should agree with that identity.

Do not substitute another Plymouth name or model year merely because the car has similar styling. Likewise, a movie-themed Plymouth and this Showroom Floor release have different collecting purposes. Treat them as alternatives unless the exact vehicle, finish and item number agree.

Choosing a display theme

This release can anchor a small 1950s-car display or add a two-tone model to a Plymouth collection. Pairing by era emphasizes body shapes; pairing by color makes the black-and-white treatment the organizing detail. Both approaches let you choose companion pieces without needing every car from the same series.

For a sealed-package collection, check the card and blister condition with the retailer. For a loose display, compare the actual model’s finish and completeness. A distributor image is useful for identifying the release, but it does not establish the condition of the unit that will arrive.
